Invitation!
Most of you are aware that we’ve been researching Business Improvement Districts, in part as a tool for economic and community development. A collaborative of nonprofits (the WBBA being one of them) is planning a presentation and tour of the Rochester Business Improvement District this coming Monday. We’re renting a bus and heading down on Monday morning, and we have space available if anybody is interested in joining us.
You can learn about the implementation and outcomes of the Rochester BID, and we’re planning a question and answer session to ask them what the pros, cons, and potential issues they’ve had (if any) with their BID. Please join us if you’d like to learn more about the work being done, or if you have questions or an interest in this model. For example, one of our questions will be the impact and participation of small businesses in the area, and what their governance and operational structures are like.

Time: 8:15 am – 5:00 pm (The bus will leave promptly at 8:15 am and will return by 5:00 pm)
Location: The shuttle will leave from the Target parking lot on Hiawatha and Lake Street. Please park on the south side of the lot nearest Lake Street.
