WBBA is hiring a Marketing & Communications Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Primary Functions:

The marketing and communications manager will work with the Executive Director to execute the West Bank Business Association’s outreach, communications, and program services to benefit area businesses as well as guests to the West Bank.

Principal Duties:

Outreach

  • Work with the Executive Director to communicate opportunities to area businesses
  • Create area newsletters highlighting activity on the West Bank
  • Translate and/or work with translator to make information more accessible

Social Media and Website

  • Create and schedule social media content
  • Help maintain content on the organization’s outreach website: thewestbank.org as well as the member website: wbba.thewestbank.org
  • Evaluate periodically based on analytics, performance, and related data, setting goals when appropriate

Small Business Services

  • Complete related paperwork including intake forms, grant reporting reports, and other tracking mechanisms as needed to properly evaluate success
  • Work with local business clients on improving their online presence, assisting them with marketing and communications needs

Programs Support

  • Attend relevant WBBA program meetings as needed
  • Respond to general WBBA emails and phone messages
  • Work with the board of directors and executive director to support WBBA programs with related marketing and communications,

Needed skills:

  • Computer skills including spreadsheets, basic web skills, and social media savvy

  • Professional demeanor
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people and businesses of diverse backgrounds and origins
  • An interest in small, local business development and planning
  • Some experience or familiarity with project management including problem solving skills, initiative
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A positive attitude toward community involvement and input and comfort in speaking publicly at community meetings as needed
  • Sharp editing skills

Hours and Compensation:

  • 5-15 hours/week
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Compensation: $20-$25 hourly, commensurate with experience
  • This is a one-year contracted position.

WBBA exists to engage the business community in the responsible economic development of the West Bank district while preserving the unique character and heritage of the Cedar-Riverside area.
